Lawsuit says ICEâs S.F. detainees are held for days in freezing cells without beds
âArresting people when they come to court is a hallmark of authoritarian regimes, not a constitutional democracy,â Nishya Kashyap, director of the racial justice program at the Lawyersâ Committee, said in a statement. âIt undermines the very foundation of our legal system.â

âOur members join our union because they want a dignified life. They want dignified jobs,â Coe said. âWorking people need free healthcare, safe schools, lower rents and healthy communities with strong public infrastructure. We donât want our taxes to pay or our public infrastructure to be used for murdering children in imperialist wars.â
